Judiciary to Launch Land Notification Feature in Commonwealth Recorder E-Recording Platform

Saipan, CNMI – The Judiciary announces the upcoming launch of an innovative Land Notification feature in its E-Recording platform. This new service, set to go live in late July, will provide real property owners with timely alerts on recording activities associated with their names, businesses, or properties.

The Land Notification feature is designed to help property owners prevent fraud by keeping them informed of any new documents being recorded against their property. Whenever there is recording activity, an email notification is immediately sent to the property owner, ensuring they are aware of any changes or updates.

“The launch of the Land Notification feature marks a significant step forward in protecting the rights of land owners in the Northern Marianas,” said Commonwealth Recorder Kelsey G. Aldan. “This feature is part of the technology and digitization project at the Recorder’s Office, all made possible by the Judiciary’s allotted ARPA funds.”

Digitalization and indexing of historical land documents will be completed in the next few months, making available instantaneous access to documents by mobile or other electronic devices. This digitization project supports the online land document search platform, which was partially launched in March of this year.

Property owners may sign up for the Land Notification service by clicking the Commonwealth Recorder tab at www.NMIJudiciary.gov beginning in early August. It will be made available without an additional fee.
